If the world was some simulation, if you feel that you are a real bag of flesh and are able to feel conscuous, free will, etc. then it doesn’t really matter if the universe is a simulation in my opinion It would explain a lot though. Sometimes I completely forget what I was going to do/find in a room right after I entered it, which could easily be explained by someone high above pulling a funny prank on the flesh bags.

If you have seen any videos of people visiting these data centers, you can hear the incredibly loud fans that make it difficult to hear the presenter speaking.

Running LLMs do take a lot of power. Trying to run a very small model on my old laptop makes the fans go crazy and power draw must be high given that it gets very hot. Then when you get models with billions upon billions of parameters, you can see how it all adds up. Then you multiply these humongous models with millions of users, as well as consider all the energy required to cool all those servers (fans, pumps, etc).

The biggest power draw in the AI industry is probably training the models, given that it’s quite literally going through the entire internet for every crumb of data and mixing it all together into coherent text and images. Then you see how power grids can be taken down by these power hungry data centers.

No wonder. Some rich guy must have got very upset. Strange though, plenty of people get punched all the time, and there are plenty more GIFs people getting punched. Banning specifically the Nazi guy getting punched isn’t good PR I think…

I started out when Barry didn’t like that Kyle got a larger share of the hunt than him, and they beat each other with a stick or something idk. Now we have the biggest of big bombs, the deadliest chemical and biological weapons, super fast fighter jets, etc.

Wars over natural resources have unfortunately always been a thing with humans. Especially troubling given that we have created all sorts of fun ways to destroy entire populations…

If the U.S. started the Great War Part III, it would probably be due to an invasion/takeover of a Russian-aligned country (e.g. Iran)

If Russia began the third big one, it would probably be due to either a) invasion of another European country (e.g. Finland, the Baltics) or b) some huge scandal that may or may not be truthful where American/European/NATO/whatever spies are found in Russian soil, prompting a justification to declare war.

If China were to start the war, it would almost certainly begin with either the hot topics of Taiwan or the South China Sea. I doubt the Chinese would risk a war for either though, and would only go in when the U.S. are distracted in some other war (e.g. if Trump goes in on Venezuela)

“Know every language” as in native speaker fluent, though it would be pretty funny if “know every language” means you only know how to count to 10 and the basic nouns and verbs, but in every language.
