A tire that only lasts a couple of laps is a shit tyre, not a better one.

The FIA asks for tyres with a degradation profile, such that one-stop and two-stop strategies are roughly equally appealing to the teams. Pirelli does not deliver on this, since the one-stop is clearly superior on most track at the moment. The fact that low-deg tyres are faster overall, does not change anything in regards to the fact that they aren’t meeting their customer’s demands.
