Well aside - The Addams Family is a century old. Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1990s movies were a revival of the 1960s television adaptation starring John Astin and Carolyn Jones, with former silent-film child actor Jackie Coogan as Uncle Fester. The first season is great TV and the second season is okay backstory.
But yeah, Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston’s Gomez and Morticia were fuuucking. Add in how Christina Ricci was grown in a vat to play Wednesday and you’ve got some flawless nostalgia.
Raul Julia was just perfect as Gomez. I like the dashing charmer much, much more than the bumbling idiot type as portayed in the new “Wednesday”
